Rita Wilson cut a glamorous figure as she attended the premiere of movie A Man Called Otto at Cine in Madrid, on Monday.

The actress, 66, wore a purple slip dress with a sheer overlay in the same colour which featured glistening beaded detail.

Screen star Rita produced the film through the Playtone company she shares with her husband Tom Hanks, 66, who plays the part of Otto in the flick.

Rita completed her look by carrying a clutch purse in the same shade as her dress while she wore a pair of high-heeled shoes.

She was seen posing with her spouse Tom on the red carpet, with the actor looking dapper in a grey suit which he teamed with a black tie.

He wore a crisp white shirt and opted for a pair of perfectly polished black shoes for the evening.

A Man Called Otto is adapted from the 2012 Swedish novel A Man Called Ove, which was turned into a 2015 Swedish film of the same name starring Rolf Lassgard.

The story follows the title character (Tom), a grumpy man who has given up on life after his wife passed away, and wants to end it all.  

Things take a turn when a young family moves in next door, as Otto’s life is turned upside down.

It is is also called The World’s Worst Neighbour in Spanish, going by the name El Peor Vecino Del Mundo.

The feature will first arrive in limited release on Christmas Day to qualify for awards season, before it opens nationwide on January 13.

Rachel Keller, who also appears in the film, showed off her chic sense of style as she posed at the event.

The actress wore a black dress with an abstract-shaped neckline, with the star opting for a make-up palette of natural hues for the evening.

Elsewhere, Mexican actress Mariana Treviño Ortiz showed off her unique sense of style as she wore a white lace detail dress.

The garment featured puff sleeves and was semi-sheer on the skirt, while she wore a pair of black high-heeled boots.
